What Is Knights Tour?
We are all familiar with the game of chess and appreciate the fact that it is one of the most complicated games ever invented. The Knight is also the most difficult piece in the game due to the complicated way in which it moves.
The aim of the Knights Tour is to move a knight using the rules of chess; starting from any square that a member of the audience selects on the chessboard and visit every square only once. This is extremely challenging and has defeated some of the greatest chess masters in the world. Make just one mistake and it will lead you to a dead end. This provides a wonderful opportunity to relate this fact to the unique challenges of the business world.
Just to give you an idea of the magnitude of this feat, it is worth noting there are several billion solutions to the problem, of which about 122,000,000 have the knight finishing on a square which is just a move away from the starting square.
Trevor will stand in front of the chess board which is seen on screen and operated by an audience member. Once a square is selected by the audience, Trevor begins to calculate each move starting slowly and increasing the speed at which his brain calculates each subsequent move.
On completion, the squares vanish off the board and your message, product or theme appears on screen. Each and every move made has been proved to be the right one!
